I wish to express my sincere thanks and congratulations to the Sabah Bumiputera of Commerce (SBCC) together wit The Sabah United Chinese Chambers of Commerce (SUCCC) and the KadazanDusun Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) for their continuous dedication, commitment and enthusiasm in jointly organizing the 2nd Borneo International Trade Fair.

Despite the gloomy economic outlook, the ministry is confident that the recently launched Sabah Development Corridor is an impetus that will maintain and further strengthen our current economic condition. I believe that the BITF2009 is one of the catalyst that ensure our trading activities are uninterrupted and will further fuel demand for our local made products not only locally but also internationally. Since its inception, BITF has worked hand in hand particularly with the Ministry of Industrial Development in ensuring the highest standards for showcasing products and services. I am proud to note that the BITF which is now its second year is expected to be a grander affair than the previous year. As such I am confident that this year's international trade fair with increased domestic and international participants will also create greater awareness and stimulate economic growth.

On that note, I would like to once again congratulate SBCC and the various organizations behind it for the initiative taken.
